We had a good gig Saturday night in Brooklyn… Scott Friedlander came and recorded it (thank you!) and I’ll be posting some of the gig soon on SoundCloud for your consumption. Stay tuned!
I’m back in Toronto for a while now (want a drum lesson? I have openings for new and/or returning students! email me), bopping around Ontario until middle of May when I do a short USA run of gigs first with CC3 in Brooklyn on May 17 (quartet version with our special guest Lucio Menegon on guitar) and a special gig with Jeff Lynch and Mitch Ivanoff in Harrisburg, PA on the 18th. The 19th is open and we’re listening to offers, preferably in the New York area, anyone wanna have us play their backyard? :)
Before all that, there’s lots going on to tell you about:
This Saturday (3/30) I make my debut drumming with Dan Walsh and the Passive Resistors. This is a serious grooving jam-roots-rock band that I am thrilled to have joined. We’re playing the Norfolk in Port Dover, ON and please keep an eye out for us all summer long, playing lots of Ontario towns I never get to play!
April has four !DO! gigs, including returns to Ottawa (a special double bill with out Ottawa drums and organ friends, the Proper Sweets) and Campbellford, two Toronto gigs (one is a double-bill with the fantastic The Out-of-Towners) and we may even get into the studio to cut some new stuff. In addition, there’s three gigs with The Passive Resistors, and one gig with my Celtic/East Coast pals Up All Night.
Then, on May 5th, my CC3 bandmate Rob Price makes his first appearance in Toronto in over 5 years! Rob will be coming up from Brooklyn for the next installment of !DO!’s Sunday night series at C’est What?. We’ll be doing a set of special CC3 music with guest bassist Jim Sexton, and then Rob will sit with !DO! to close out the night.
That’s all for now, I sincerely hope to see many faces old and new at these upcoming events. Your continued support is so sincerely appreciated!
